I am 19 years old and currently insured by statefarm. They recently found out about a disobeying stop sign ticket that i got last year. Also, they found out that i am not currently in school. I own a 2007 saturn ion (manual, 2 door) that i am currently financing a few thousand dollars on. Since they dropped the steer clear and good student discounts, i am paying 166 dollars a month. Before that i was paying 108. It just seems kind of high to me. I am pretty sure i am getting a couple discounts from my parents. Also i have signed up for classes in the fall making me a full time student eventually. Is there any car insurance company that could get me a better deal? i have tried farmers, progressive, and geico.

It's half way down my back back, on the left side, kind of ON my side, but not quite. This isn't an aesthetic issue, and i've had the mole for years. My dad's 2001 Toyota 4Runner recently broke down and the mechanic said it was b/c water got into the transmission and that we would need a new one. But now Geico is saying that if the price goes over $1000 they're just going to total the car. The mechanic said it'll be around $5000 and the adjuster hasn't seen the car yet (he'll try today or on Monday), so do you guys think that Geico will definitely total the car? When we first talked to them they said they would cover everything and I'm guessing they know the cost of a new transmission, so I don't understand why they won't cover it anymore.

Which will cost more in car insurance, generally: a passenger sedan (maybe a 1999 Honda Civic) or a pickup truck (1995 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, perhaps)? Also, if I have two trucks, both exactly the same, only, one has 2-wheel drive and one has 4-wheel drive, which will cost more in insurance? If one will infact cost more, will the difference be significant enough to matter? I live in Colorado. 4-wheel drive is desirable with the snow and ice, but if it will cost significantly more in insurance, I can't justify it.

What do we tell the insurance company and what will happen?

Ok, my mother let my 14 year old son drive her car around the yard. He somehow managed to hit the house, both my son and the house are relatively unscathed, The car on the other hand is a different story. So my question(s) is/are what do we tell the insurance company? Do we tell them that he was driving the car, maybe just say he was moving it so we could mow around it? If we do that what will happen to him, if anything? Do we say that one of us licensed adults did it? What will happen to us? We're trying to avoid the $500 deductible and go around insurance completely, but it's looking like it's going to cost quite a bit more than $500, so we are trying to weigh our options out and see what is our best route.
